turkey bacon and more turkey bacon
Since we need to eat so much protein, turkey bacon has been an easy and relatively cheap way to get it. Every week we cook a few packages of turkey bacon in the oven, and bag it up for easy access during the week.

dinner - fish and veggies
On our p90x diet, most dinners consist of a protein, a veggie, and sometimes a diary. We bought a big bag of Tilapia to add some variety to the pounds of turkey bacon we eat, so I've been working on cooking that.
This piece I just did on the stove, seasoning it with some garlic and oregano.
Not my favorite, I think I need to find a new method.

happy thanksgiving!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!
We decided that this year we weren't going to go anywhere or do anything - being so far away from family makes it difficult and expensive to meet up with family.
Doing p90x, our Thanksgiving meal will not be as fancy as it normally would be, but I'll keep you posted on what I made!

thanksgiving coffee
Since it is Thanksgiving, I'm cheating on the p90x diet just a little and having a cup of coffee. A cup of coffee and relaxing while dinner is in the crockpot. Doesn't get any better than that. :)

p90x food poster
We made this poster to help us keep track of what we could eat and what counted in each category. It's a little hard to see, but there are categories for fat, protein, carb, veggie, fruit, dairy, snacks, and condiments. It's been a big help as I pack a lunch in the morning!

grizzly on the couch
Grizzly loves to move the pillows to his liking after I just arranged them on the couch! He's lucky he's cute!
fruit bowl
Our big bowl of fruit! We each have to eat a certain amount of fruit, so the full bowl may not be full for long!

my biggest obstacle
This will be my biggest obstacle as we do P90X. The pull up bar. I can't do a pull up, not even close at the moment. (There is a modified pull up so I'll be able to do something.)
Maybe by the end I'll be able to do a pull up!

P90X
Alex and I have decided to do the P90X workout plan, so our cooked turkey will come in handy! The diet that goes with P90X is very protein intensive, so we should go through it all with no trouble.
Last Tuesday was DDay, as we are going to use Mondays as our day off. (You work out six days and get one day off, even though you follow the meal plan every day.)
Wish us luck!

cooking a whole turkey
For $13.78 we bought a whole turkey, baked it up on a Saturday, and my awesome husband carved it.
Our 14lb turkey, before cooking:
Right out of the oven:
After being carved, packaged into smaller quantities, and ready for freezing:
The smaller packages will make it easy to pull out of the freezer and add it to recipes!
